Edith's Bracken Copper Bracelet

There's something about the way overlapping strands hold their shape, each one on its own, all of them together. That's what this piece reminded us of the whole time we were making it.

We wind six threads of copper side by side, facet each one by hand so it catches the light differently depending on how you turn your wrist, then bind the ends tightly with coiled wire before rounding off the caps.

Copper has been worn against the skin for thousands of years, long before anyone thought to bottle a remedy for anything. We didn't invent that. We simply kept doing what our hands know.

This is an open cuff, so it settles comfortably onto most wrists with a little adjusting. No clasp, no fuss.
